Earlier in the week you may have heard PHS’s Drew Becher on WHYY’s Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane. In case you missed it, listen online here.
The topic of discussion was trees. Paul Meyer, director of the Morris Arboretum, and Sven Spichiger, an entomologist with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, also participated in the conversation.
Even today we’re still learning about trees’ many benefits. Besides providing oxygen and capturing carbon dioxide, a tree can cut a home’s energy costs in half. Trees also soak up pollution, prevent soil erosion and flooding, and provide habitat for wildlife.
Listen in and learn something new!
